How to reduce stress in the mountains of Rauland

This july I was in Rauland in Vinje Municipality in Telemark County. This was a place that I had never visited before, and a place that I is eager to come back to. The nature here is so stunning and you get amazed by the high mountains and the lakes. You can see snow on the top of the highest mountains, but it is quite warm when the sun is shining. It is a perfect way to reduce stress and be in balance.

Te-hytta

The path up to the Te-hytta starts approximately 6 km from the center of Rauland in the direction of Haukeligrend. When you get to there is a small car park on the right side of the road, and there is a sign for the Te-hytta on the right side of the road where the path begins. The path is marked and clearly visible in the terrain, and it winds relatively steeply up the mountainside. Expect to be a little tired due to the steep terrain. But just take small breakes so you have power to get the whole way to the top. It can be wise to bring stable hiking shoes, water bottle and a warm jacket.

After I walked for approximately one hour I came to the top and the viewpoint at the Te-hytta. That was breathtaking and worth the struggle. I had an amazing view of Rauland and Totak. Hiking to Te-hytta is one of the options to experience a breathtaking view of the mountains and nature of Rauland. Te-hytta is 975 meter below sea lewel. You can continue from Te-hytta to Raulandsfjell, but the path further is not marked, so you have to bring a map and compass. To the west of the Te-hytta, another path goes down again, which emerges on the county road 200 meters west of the car park.

When I got down again I was so warm, and two of the people I met on the trip recommend a bath in Totaksvannet. I followed their advice and it was so refreshing. This is a trip I will late forget. I will definitely come back, for this is so good for my mental health and body. The cold water gets your muscles refreshed in no time.
